Instant Availability is something people take for granted when you’re always online. If you use a service like meebo.com, it might confuse people that you’re even online with your instant messenging accounts at nights and while you travel.
It happened to me that I got asked if I couldn’t somehow make clear whether I would answer or not. But as all means of communication one person needs to make a call, the other one responds and there’s a conversation or the other one doesn’t respond and there’s no conversation.
Different technologies have different advantages though:
- Telefone: you know within 30 seconds if the other person responds and can have a highly effective synchronous conversation.
- eMail: You can leave a message.
- instant messenging: You can leave a message and if there’s a conversation, you can perform that without a big delay even if it’s asynchronous.

This post is a test post written via the new WordPress for iOS app version 2.7. Seems to work.
[Edit:] Sadly I couldn’t add bullet points, and all the features the wordpress plugins give you (like simple tags, photo dropper, ) and the autocorrection put in one mistake, but otherwise writing this on the app worked fine and only took me about 7 minutes. Nice!
